My Question or Issue
I'm having this weird bug where the last song I've added to my playlist is, for want of a better word, invisible. I can play it when playing the playlist itself, but I cannot select it or play it individually. I've tried uninstalling the Spotify app and unchecking Hide Unplayable Songs (a feature that's been removed from Desktop, for whatever reason), but this didn't help. A temporary workaround I tried was adding a duplicate of the song and then removing the duplicate, which worked for about a minute before it returned again.
See attached a screenshot of the bugged song (at the bottom).
Hey @AdamSkelecoot,
Thanks for reaching out in the Community about this and for letting us know that this was solved after the last updated.
Don't hesitate to give us a shout if you're experiencing the issue again.
Cheers.
Okay, nevermind; I added another song to a playlist and the bug is still happening. I think the update might have jostled something to make them work but didn't fix the underlying problem. I'll keep this post open for now.
Hey there @AdamSkelecoot,
Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
You mentioned that you've already reinstalled the app, but would you mind going through the steps of a clean reinstall, as it's more thorough than a normal one? Make sure to download the app again from the Microsoft Store.
If the issue persists after this, we suggest that you try clearing your host files on your PC following these steps.
Let us know how it goes.
Hey there @AdamSkelecoot,
Fantastic news! Give us a shout if it starts misbehaving again; we're always here to help.
Have a great day 🙂
Yeah, just looked at one of my playlists and a song I recently added there is blocked out again. So the clean install was only a temporary fix after all, so I'm glad I waited to see of it worked or not. I think it's just failing to load on the desktop app for some reason. Image included.
Edit: Also found something interesting; adding it to another playlist seems to work fine, but also, if I go back and forth between this playlist and another, the greyed out song sometimes shows, so I'm doubly confused now.
Hey @AdamSkelecoot,
Thanks for keeping us posted about this one.
To further look into it, could you send us the link of that playlist, if that's ok? We'd also like to know if that happens only on those two playlists you mentioned or in any of them.
Lastly, let us know the exact Spotify version you're running.
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Hey @AdamSkelecoot,
Thanks for getting back in touch and for that info.
We've reported this to the right folks, how are currently looking into it. We can't commit to a timeframe for when this will be fixed, but in the meantime, make sure to keep the app updated.
If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.
Cheers!
