[Desktop][Podcasts] Filter podcast episodes by played/unplayed on mobile, desktop and web players

There is currently no way to filter podcast episodes on the desktop, web or mobile app.  Currently you can only sort episodes. It would be great to be able to filter out episodes marked as played so you don't have to constantly scroll through all the episodes to find one you haven't heard yet. This is would be especially helpful with long-running podcasts that do not need to be played in a certain order. Aesthetically, it would look much sleeker.  Providing this level of organization would make it much easier to see if you hadn't finished/listened to episodes and would potentially encourage listeners to listen to more episodes as the barrier to entry is lower (i.e., it takes less effort to get to an unplayed episode).

We moved your post from the Ideas board to the relevant Help board, where it fits better.

You can already filter the podcast episodes by Unplayed by tapping on "Filter" next to "All episodes" and choosing the "Unplayed" option in the mobile app. This can be also done in the desktop app by following the same steps.

If you'd like to have this option on the web player too, you can have a look in our Idea Exchange to see if someone else has already made a similar suggestion. If there isn't one, you can give these steps a go and submit your idea so that other users can also support it. The higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for it to be implemented.

No it can't. While the mobile app has various "filter" pills ("Unplayed", "Downloaded", "In progress"), the desktop app has no such functionality. It has a sort dropdown, and a search field, but there is no filter dropdown or filter pills anywhere in the "Your Episodes" podcast playlist.
