Device option missing from Main menu

Solved!

Device option missing from Main menu

After the March 12, 2015, update, I am no longer seeing 'Devices' under the Main menu on the top left of Spotify.  As a result, when I plug in my Ipod Touch 5th generation (so iOS version is not the issue), I can't see it therefore I can't sync any of my playlists.  Anyone else having this problem.  Has 'Devices' been removed?  If so, how do we locate our devices in order to sync.  Any help would bre appreciated.  Thanks!

The devices section will be coming back in a future update.

In the meantime:

You won't be able to see an indication in the desktop client that the device is paired with the desktop client. But as long as they both are on the same WiFi network you should be able to trigger the local files sync by toggling the offline toggle on the playlist on your phone. Just make sure all your local files are in the playlist you switch to offline in the desktop app.

Hi, and welcome to the community!

My android device isn't showing up either when I connect it the same WiFi. I guess they've removed this feature... as well...

I haven't seen anyone else post about this so far, might just be because I can't read everything posted, but if anyone else does and I see it I'll escalate this as an issue to the staff and try and find a solution.

Update @luvtohike -- just checked, Devices is returning  to the latest client version. An exact date is unspecified at the moment but it's definitely coming back!

That's great Anthony, thank you!  So in the meantime, we can't sync playlists on any devices?  This is a baffling update if that is the case.

Matt, thanks for this.  I am syncing with an ipod touch 5th generation; I don't know what offline toggle is so I'm not sure if I have this on my ipod (can't find it).  Do you know if I can sync from an ipod touch 5th generation?  As yes, that is the problem; I have alot of local files in my playlists that I can no longer use.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you!

In a playlist there is a toggle at the top that says "available offline". Yes it should work on a 5th gen iPod touch

Yes, I know to do that.  It's the syncing I am asking about.  Any music from Spotify will play via offline, but none of my local files that are on my computer will play.  Does anyone know how to sync the device now that I can't actually see it and prompt a manual sync?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you,

Just an update; I received a reply from Spotify and with the new update, you CANNOT sync local files to your device.  Thanks to those who tried to assist.  Cheers!

can someone explain why devices was removed in the first place??? pretty **bleep**ing pissed off is it possible to download the previous version or remove the update? i will cancel my spotify if this is not sorted soon i need to sync to my sandisk mp3 player it is all i use spotify for.
