Discover Weekly and Partner Apps - API change?

As of last week, something changed with the API to access the discover weekly playlist.  API calls still enumerate it as a playlist, but you can't choose that playlist. The Sonos app no longer sees it, and using IFTTT doesn't work on that playlist either. A Sonos tech said it looks like Discover Weekly is now in a special 'Discover' container. What is going on?  Why the change and what's the workaround to access that playlist via API??
