Do Desktop Spotify streams count towards Billboard charts (i.e. Hot 100)?

I have been using the Desktop Spotify App for over 2 years to stream. Sometimes, I also stream on the Spotify web player. But yesterday I saw a post from someone saying that streams from the Desktop Spotify app and/or the Spotify web player do NOT count towards Billboard charts (i.e. Hot 100, BB 200, Global 200 etc.). Is this true?

I believe these are the charts that count/include streaming numbers (From Billboard):

• Hot 100 (songs)
• Billboard 200 (albums)
• Artist 100 (artists)
• Streaming Songs (songs)
• Social 50 (artists)

I'm fairly sure that there isnt a real difference between streams from albums or playlists but don't put your volume on mute while you stream because then it won't count. Hope this helps!
