Fire TV app turns off after 20 minutes

I downloaded an update for the Fire TV app today, and ever since, the Spotify app turns off after 20 mins.

This appears to be because the Fire TV stick doesn't recognise that the Spotify app is running, as it displays stock images/screensaver after 5 minutes, then switches off entirely after 20 minutes. This is what the Fire Stick does when it's not in use while the TV is on, so it's almost like it doesn't "know" the Spotify app is running.

The sound is not affected until the switch-off at 20 mins. This has only happened since the update, so maybe it's something to do with that? The Fire TV app can be a little bit buggy, but nothing like this has happened before.

Didn't work for me even after firestick reset.  It still stops after 20 minutes.

Tried that. Turns off the screen saver (pictures) but still goes into sleep mode after 15 minutes.

Spotify, You've got a bunch of users out here that can't use the service that we're paying you for. A timely fix would would greatly incentivize continuing to send you our money!

Mine is doing the same thing with my Firestick as the rest of you. It started about a week ago. It tended to get better yesterday, then after a few hours it closed the app again. I am always able to open the app right back up, but this is very annoying.

Just restarted my fire tv and it worked!

**bleep** app! still screwy after 2 weeks. Elvis used to shoot at his TV; I wish I could, but can't afford it. maybe think of something else to get rid of this interminable frustration. it was good for a day, then back to old ways. anyone at spotify listenng???

For me the problem seems to be fixed - it disappeared !

This workaround was working great until today.  Now that's not working for me anymore.  I didn't do any further updates or anything.  Has this happened to anyone else?

Il y a eu 3 mises à jour depuis le bug ! Faudrait vous assurer que tout est à jour ! Dans Paramètre / My Fire Tv/ À propos/ Fire TV stick / Recherche de Mises à jour. Parfois, il faut redémarrer pour l'installation. La dernière date du 29 juin et ici tout va bien.

I was having same issue and I restarted the Firestick after the recent update of the App and now it works again. Hope this helps.

Worked for a while and now broken again. Restarting firestick doesn't help.

Mine was working fine again until yesterday.  The sound stopped in the middle of a song and I have not been able to fix it.  All other apps on the fire stick work fine, just not Spotify.  Any suggestions?   I still have video, just not sound.

I've had this issue for a couple of months now and tried the restarting etc with no joy. Is this still under investigation by Spotify/Amazon?

I was having this issue back when it was first posted, and then I did the "show lyrics" trick and it worked. Now we are back to it not working again.

did you check if your firestick has an update available? that did the trick for me and it works fine again

I had this issue back in June and it was working fine up until today - 8/6. Looks like there might have been another update?

I'm having this issue as well. It got resolved for a short period of time but now it's gotten worse. Before I was able to work around this issue by putting on show lyrics and it would stay on, now even if I have show lyrics on it still goes to sleep

Same issue here aswell on my Fire TV stick. Tried everything. A different network, reinstall spotify app. But it just won’t work. It used to work before

Le même problème est revenu et semble associé encore une fois à une récente mise à jour !  Pour la mise à jour on entre dans le Fire Stick et ensuite À Propos et on peut voir Mise à jour.... Celle du 15 août 2023 n'a pas corrigé le problème. Y a-t-il quelqu'un du support Spotify ici qui peut intervenir svp Merci
