Free accounts and Chromecast Audio

Hi:

I want to buy a couple of Chromecast Audio to give new life to some old audio gear.

I've found contradictory information about Chromecast Audio and Free accounts. In the Spotify Gear page it says that Chromecast devices (it pictures a HDMI and Audio) works with Spotify Free. But in this forum some people says that only premium accounts works with Chromecast Audio. 

So, I would love an straight answer to the question: Does Spotify Free works with Chromecast Audio on iOS and Android devices?
