My Question or Issue

Using Spotify with Gemini, or at least trying to. It will play music or my personal playlists fine. However, most of the time when I ask it to play podcasts it wont play the latest episode of a particular show, even though I specify the "most recent" or "latest" episodes. It will only do it if I mark all episodes as played and then unplayed, which defeats the purpose if I have to do it every time I want to ask Gemini to play a podcast. Anyone else have this issue?

I understand not everyone has the Spotify extension yet though.

The option to search for a specific podcast episode (for example by its name or by using 'latest episode') is currently not available. While we can't give you a specific timeframe for if or when this will be available for the extension, we recommend always keeping the app up-to-date to get new features when they're launched 🙂

I mean Google Assistant does a pretty good job. It seems a massive oversight and a bit pointless in including the ability to ask Gemini to play podcasts at all on Spotify if it only plays random episodes.

Will there be an integration between Spotify and Gemini (Google Assistant) to play and find tracks using voice and AI? It would be very helpful.
