Google Home delayed playback

When I try to play music using my google home there's a solid minute delay between when I tell it to play something and then it playing. This happens whether I tell the google home to play something or try over my phone Samsung S9. If I'm turning the volume up using my phone the device changes volume instantly but no music. I've unlinked my spotify account and relinked it twice. I've unplugged the google home device for 20 seconds twice. I've also restarted my phone. Help! No issues with just playing spotify on my phone.

2. Exact operating system (e.g. 4.4.2)

3. Spotify app version installed (2.0.0)
