How do I stop receiving notifications from artists I don't even follow

I keep getting new release notifications for an artist called Santhu Omkar. I don't follow that user or the featured artists in their singles, or any related genre or podcast. I checked my profile for any related artists I am following or if I am accidentally following anything related.

Nothing against the artist in question, I just think it's some sort of bug and it's just jarring to see something so out of place in my notifications. (This also shows up in the Android app)

Thanks for reaching out.

In this case, we'd recommend following and then unfollowing the artist in question and checking if that changes anything. If not, try selecting Don't play this artist in the artist page menu.

It's also a good idea to secure your account using the steps outlined here to exclude the possibility of unauthorized content streaming from it.

Hey MihailY, I did try a follow and unfollow before but I will try again. Also, it may be important to note on the desktop app of the artist page the "Don't play this artist" does not appear, I only saw it on mobile

Apologies, I should've mentioned that the Don't play this artist option is only available on mobile.

Unfortunately, I just got another New song notification from the unfollowed artist. I'm convinced this is just a straight up bug in the Spotify service.

This is what I see in the What's New section when I click on the bell icon in the desktop app.

The listed artist is not one I follow or know about, nor do I think there are any related artists that I follow. So because it stands out as very different from my musical tastes and language, it seems like a bug to me.
