How to use my Onkyo TX-NR717 with Spotify Premium? Help plz..urgent..

I like to use my Onkyo receiver with my Premium Spotify account.

I have a normal username so no Facebook login.

If I use my normal username and password with the hardware device as login it doesn't work.

I cannot set a special device password if that is what I am supposed to do (according to https://support.spotify.com/nl/problems/#!/article/Play-Hardware-Devices) because

https://www.spotify.com/nl/account/profile/

 

If I look at my profile the following entry is missing (I'm Dutch), others seems to have it though.

 

"Gebruik Spotify op je apparaten

Stel een wachtwoord voor je apparaten in om Spotify op je Sonos, Squeezebox en een heleboel andere apparaten te gebruiken.
Stel een wachtwoord voor je apparaten in "

 

The last line again refers to https://www.spotify.com/nl/account/set-device-password/ which redirects to https://www.spotify.com/nl/account/profile/

 

Please explain to me how I can get this working.

It really shouldn't be this difficult.

Yes it is...however it IS working now.

I rebooted my receiver (didn't try that yet) and that somehow seems to have fixed it.

The redirects on the website I got without any explanation are confusing though.

So this problem is solved as of now.

You don't need to set a device password if you have a Spotify username login.

What error message do you get when you try and login using your username (not your email address) and your Spotify password?

I get:

 

 

login error. please check your account information.

 

I have tried a lot of times and I'm sure I don't make any errors.

Same credentials work fine on desktop.

Strange, is your account definitely showing as premium (with the correct username) on your online overview?
