Hey folks,

Thanks for reaching out to us about this on the Community.

We are currently working with Instagram to make this option available for everyone soon!

Right now we cannot provide an exact timeframe on when it's going to be out to everybody.

In the meantime, we recommend you keep both your apps updated.

Thanks for your patience!

Hey, Jack. This is the second time I post this. It's  literally a copy-paste from the previous ones with updated software version.

I was once able to share my music to stories, but now I can't. I've done everything suggested in this thread and the option still isn't showing up.
What I did:
1)
- Force Stop Instagram and Spotify
- Clear their data
- Uninstall them
- Reinstall them
- Login to Instagram with Facebook credentials
- Login to Spotify with Facebook credentials
Didn't work.

2)

- The same thing with 1), in addition with also reinstalling Facebook
Didn't work, either.

3)
- The same thing with 2) but, I updated my phone from 8.1 to 9, first.
Still not working.

Guysss After Uninstall and Install both of them (Instagram and Spotify). Don't forget to RESTART your smartphone!!! Problem solved :))

Restart after signing in or after installing

RESTART after re-installing. Open the app, log in, share. It should be good.

Should we delete the data before the uninstall as mentioned before?

I used Samsung A8. Just do regular uninstall on Spotify and Instagram. Go to Play Store, Install both of them Spotify and Instagram. Restart the phone. Open the app, find, and share a piece of music. Voila! Hope you guys can do it soon. :))

Didn't work man

I just tried this method and it still doesn't work, but congrats on finding a way that may help others. I hope they make an update and sorta re-release the feature for everyone

Man, I'm not the chosen ones. Good for you, though.

I have the same problem, nothing is working to get rid of it. It's just a joke, that this bug is around for such a long time, i honeslty think that spotify does not even care about this. In the words of a famous orange man this is just "SAD".

I have a one note 6t, with the latest version os Spotify and Instagram

Wow I can't believe I still can't use this feature even after I change my phone twice in the past year....Spotify you better get it together. How come others can do this and we can't? What's the difference?

My device info:

  • Samsung S9
  • Spotify version: 8.4.90.722
  • Instagram version: 77.0.0.20.113

My system is Android 8.0.0

I think this has something to do to the fact that Instagram is native to Galaxy phones now (or after some of the updates last year). I can't unninstall it anymore, just revert back updates. Maybe it's conflicting with something and Spotify is not being able to identify and link stuff. I can't think of anything else because it's such a huge chunk of people being left out.

I used to be able to do it with my iphone6s like 10 days ago. Swapped phones and the option is gone.

Phone Model: HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro

Instagram: version 78.0.0.11.104

Spotify: version 8.4.91.861

I have same problem here.. To solve that, just connect your account spotify and instagram to facebook account.

Hi, this did not resolve the problem. My accounts were already linked to
Facebook.
