1- When I hover my mouse on a song name on Spotify Web Mini player, mini player starts shaking a lot.
2- When I add an album to a folder twice, it doesn't warn me about the duplicate and there is that playlist in that folder twice.
3- Spotify Web Mini player has playback controls like volume now.
When did this update came? Also mini web player buttons feels a bit faster, anyone else notice?
I use free plan on web.
Hey @blabala22,
Thanks for reaching out.
We've checked the first issue you've shared and we were able to reproduce it. Your report has been forwarded to the relevant team, we'll keep you posted on any updates in this thread. Thanks for helping us make Spotify better 🙂
Regarding the second issue, Spotify currently allows using the same name for multiple playlists, so the behavior you're seeing is expected. If you think that other users might support the addition of a confirmation dialogue box or something similar, feel free to suggest it as an idea here.
In regard to your third question, playback controls have been around for a while and also, responsiveness varies between platforms so it's indeed possible you're noticing a slight difference.
Again, thank you for your feedback and please, do let us know if you have further questions.
That idea link is too complicated. Can you do it for me instead? Or can you send this issue to the team as a bug? When I was adding all the Lotr and Hobbit Soundtracks to a folder, there was like 20 playlists and I couldn't keep track of the duplicate playlists because their names were too long, a confirmation dialogue box would be very helpful.
When was playback controls added? It was added last month for me.
Hey @blabala22,
I can't post an idea on your behalf, however, I've checked for related ideas and found this one with a similar feature that would work for your scenario. Feel free to vote for it, subscribe for updates and share it with other Spotify users to boost views and likes.
Regarding the playback controls - I've checked, but I could find the exact date. Keep in mind that features get rolled out gradually, so it's normal to get them later/earlier than others.
Hope this helps!
When I add an album to a folder twice, it doesn't ... - The Spotify Community Did I do it right?
Btw I got a few more questions.
1- Certain songs that are already in my playlist don't have tick on them. For example, I added Lotr 1 Ost album to my folder, it becomes my playlist, most songs have tick on them when I check them on their original album, but some songs don't have tick on them. And sometimes when I check someone elses playlist, I see no tick from the songs from someone elses playlist, than I click on the album from one of those songs from other peoples playlists, I see ticks from the original album itself.
2- Is it possible to add artists into a folder? Artists are randomly there and I want to classify them.
3- How can I import folders, playlists from one spotify profile to another?
Hey there @blabala22,
Thanks for your reply.
So, let's go point by point. First, keep in mind that some albums might have a deluxe version or several versions uploaded by the artists/right holders. From what you kindly mentioned, most likely you added one version of an album to a playlist, and then you added that to a folder. It's possible that the versions of the songs you're seeing in others playlists are part of a different album that is not the one you added initially to your library.
In that sense, it's expected you won't see the checkmark next to the song, as they're not part of your library. You can double-check if the artist has more than one version of the same album on their profile>discography.
On another note, we can confirm it is not possible to add artists to folders. You can check if other users have posted similar suggestions on our ideas board. We've located this one that we think you might be interested in:
Lastly, if perhaps you have more than one account, you can follow the steps in this article to transfer the content and manage it into your folders. If perhaps you're referring to playlists created by others, you can create copies of those by going to its three-dot menu and select Add to other playlist to added to your own playlists.
It's not possible to move folders or share them, but we located this other idea that you might like:
Consider adding your vote to those to show your support.
Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.
> some albums might have a deluxe version or several versions uploaded by the artists/right holders
1- I know, that's not what happened to me. I explained that I don't see checkmarks from certain songs from that album itself, not a different version of that album.
Check this https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1CxVwq7RzkU4EqMrv5gaBF I have that album in my playlist, but I see no checkmarks, like non. Than I click on the album itself https://open.spotify.com/album/11TywRtTHs1DbBChEkRV7I I see all the checkmarks.
2- > follow the steps in this article
Which article? Transfering hundreds of playlist takes too long. Isn't there a short way?
3- I don't have "Add to other playlist" option on three-dot menu of other peoples playlists.
What I do is I use shift+left click to select songs and add those songs to my playlist or I drag that playlist to one of my folders.
But what I am looking for is transfering folders, playlists, playlist descriptions to another profile, soundiiz and tunemymusic does it badly and soundiiz is paid and they do it between platforms, they don't do it from spotify profile to another spotify profile.
Hey @blabala22,
Thanks for your response.
I've taken a look at the checkmark thing and was able to reproduce it with playlists that were created before the feature was introduced. I've forwarded it as well, but I can't say when or if it will be addressed.
On another note, the article that @AlejaR meant to send was this one. We understand the procedure isn't ideal, but it's the only option we have right now for transferring music from one profile to another.
Hope you'll find it useful!
> before the feature was introduced
Which feature? This is a bug.
What about my other question? "I don't have "Add to other playlist" "
Hey @blabala22,
I meant the feature where you see a checkmark next to the tracks that you've already added to your playlist.
Apologies for missing your other question, the Add to other playlist is currently not available in the web player, however you can find it in the desktop/mobile app.
Let me know if there's anything else.
No, I'll just wait for updates on mini player shaking and the checkmark problem.
"When I hover my mouse on a song name on Spotify Web Mini player, mini player starts shaking a lot." problem is not fixed. It's better with the new update but this time mini player grows when I hover.
