I got an email welcoming me but I’ve been using this for years.

I just got an email as I said before. The email it said it was sent to was mine except there was a dot in between my first and last name (my email doesn’t have that). I was wondering if it was sent to me accidentally because I have been using Spotify for years and I never made a new account using my current email. It just wanted me to confirm my account (I didn’t because I don’t think it was meant for me) but I was very confused upon seeing it.

If you get any suspicious emails, make sure to forward the entire email to spoof@spotify.com. 

Spotify team will investigate it and they will let you know if the email is legitimate.
