Last.fm stops scrobbling

My Question or Issue

Every now and then Spotify stops scrobbling via the Last.fm scrobbler app. This issue's been existing for a long time now, and there's an acute fix by disconnecting and reconnecting the Last.fm app: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Other-Podcasts-Partners-etc/Last-fm-is-not-scrobbling/td-p/4648583.

However, that can't be a permanent solution. Until you notice that Spotify has stopped scrobbling and you can apply the fix, you will miss quite some scrobbles. That's really annoying.

For me, the problem is there with all apps. No matter if I use the app on desktop, Android or FireTV stick - once scrobbling got stuck, it doesn't work for either.

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community.

Since this issue is related to the third party service Last.fm, there isn't much that can be done about this from the Spotify app side. It's best to reach out to the support teams from Last.fm about this.
