My Question or Issue

For some time, more and more songs are grayed out and can no longer be played. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Spotify app on my PC as well as my Iphone. With the result that even more songs are grayed out. I have 2 devices registered. I have about 1,700 to 2,000 songs, well below the limit of 10,000. Both on my Iphone and on my PC, I have more than 100 GB of free memory. I can rediscover and download grayed-out songs in Spotify. It can not be a licensing problem.  I have to be sure that my music does not disappear. Otherwise I can not use Spotify anymore. My collection has been created over many years and I can not reproduce the collection.

Hey @Swingganster, help's here.

Sometimes, artists and labels remove and re-upload their music, which may explain why you're seeing greyed-out music which you can search for and find in Spotify. This may especially be apparent if you have an older playlist, and songs from the same album disappear simultaneously.

Try this by copying the URI of the greyed-out track, paste it somewhere, and then copy the URI of its respective "working" version and paste it. Do you see 2 different URI links? If so, it should mean that it was re-uploaded.

Hope that explains things, and let us know if there's anything else.

Hello Jemi,

the problem has nothing to do with Licencing of songs. Your proposal dosent help.
