My shuffle is acting really weird??

My shuffle is acting really weird??

So I looked at my playlists queue before closing the app, because I wanted to see what was gonna play when i got back, and it was all metal. When I re opened the app an hour later suddenly Charlie XCX was the next two things in the queue??? Don’t get me wrong, those song are in my playlist but how did they get up there???

Whenever I play a song on shuffle through my playlist and I click on a song and I go to the previous song before It’s always the same song I listen to before like for example say I was listening to sticky and I wanted to listen to something else and then I go back a song it’s sticky again no matter what happens. The previous will always be sticky and I don’t know how to change it.

Hey @RedderRhetoric,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for posting in the forum! The queue should remain the same when closing and reopening Spotify so this may be a temporary minor issue.

Is this the first time that the queue has changed when you reopened the app and is it a particular playlist?

I recommend toggling off/on Shuffle and Smart Shuffle, then logging out > back in twice in a row in order to resync your account and Spotify. As a more advanced step, you can also give the app a clean reinstall with these steps as it helps resolve different performance issues.

If the behavior persists, it would be helpful if you could test with your account on another device (if it's possible).

We'd also like to look into what New user has described, so do you mind sending us a video recording of the behavior you described? We'd like to check it out as what you're experiencing sounds different than what the other user described. You can either attach the video here via the Insert Video option in the post editor or upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us.

Thanks and we'll be on the lookout!
