Odd recommendations with no clear reasons

I keep getting recommendations for Indian music. I live in the Philippines and have not once shown interest in such music; said music is recommended on any of my devices and has happened within the past 3 hours as of writing this post with no clear reason. The only reason I could explain why this is happening is that somehow, spotify's auto-generated artists/music was confused as an Indian artist.

Hey @Mehfia,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, we suggest you follow the steps you can find here to protect your account.

Additionally, make sure Log in to your account page, scroll down, and select SIGN OUT EVERYWHERE. This way you’ll sign out from every device in which your account is open.

We recommend checking for anything suspicious on your Account Overview page and removing all apps connected to your account. You can easily reconnect the apps that you use whenever you want. If you notice anything suspicious you can remove it with the REMOVE ACCESS button.

We'd like to add some insights about this behavior. We suggest you make sure the Private Session is off, so the algorithm can gather enough info about your most recent listening activity an the recommendations you see in general terms more accurate. Also, make sure you're listening to music not only from other playlists made for you, like Discover Weekly or Daily Mix, but through the Search option as well.

It's worth mentioning that these playlists update regularly, so please give them some breaks, explore some new music, check in in the coming weeks, and let us know how it goes.

We hope you found this helpful. We're always here to help.
