My Question or Issue

I recently changed internet provider and found that my Philips Spotify speakers no longer had an app to reconnect them. Downloading the retired app doesn't seem to want to connect and Spotify Connect doesn't see them. Philips say the SpeakerSet app has been retired because the hardware is discontinued and, for them, that's that (really annoying!) I've tried several emulator installations to get the app to reconnect the speakers but, as there is no port on the hardware, or any way of accessing it over WiFi, I've just got a couple of large paperweights. Any ideas? Buying new ones is currently out for financial reasons.

Hey @Trick66,

Thanks for reaching out!

If the speakers and the app you were using were discontinued and there is no option to connect to Spotify via WiFi or Bluetooth, I'm afraid it won't be possible to use them with Spotify anymore. What I'd suggest is reaching out to Philips, since they might be able to give you more info and advise on what can be done in this case.

I figured that might be an answer. Cheers.I initially did ask Philips but they were, let's say, less helpful. They basically said, it's discontinued... Be happy.

- Press  and hold the setup button on the back for 3+ seconds until the indicator light blinks yellow.

- Connect phone or computer to the philips wifi setup network ":) Philips Setup xxxxxx"

- Open a web browser and navigate to:

http://172.24.0.1/

- Use the web setup to connect it to your wifi (press the scan button to get a list of available wifi's.)

After saving and reboot, you can access the web interface from your local wifi. It will also show up in your spotify app.

It really appalling that Phillips support couldn't provide you with this information.

If I ever find a way flash a custom firmware to this device, I'll post it to my blog at www.snart.com.
