Playlist image license

I have made a playlist and will make it public in the future. I have taken images from online searches as my playlist's image. Does the image have to be free of use?

That's a good question. According to this support site article, you'll need to make sure that the picture doesn't violate any copyright, trademark, or personal image rights. For more information, check out Spotify's playlist image guidelines.
