My Question or Issue

Auto Download of podcasts is not working. I selected auto download for the ones I wanted to auto download, and nothing ever happens. They never download. I have to go in and manually download the episodes I want.

Hey @newrkv,

Thanks for posting this thread in the Community and for the provided screenshots!

Did you notice when this behavior started happening for the first time and if it was after something specific (update for example)?

If the podcast episodes don't download automatically, then there could be some damaged cache on your device. If you've not already done this I recommend a clean reinstall with the steps here which often helps resolve different performance issues.

If the behavior persists, it would be helpful to test if the episodes would download automatically with a different internet connection and on another device if it's possible.

Lastly, something else that comes to mind is to go to the app's Settings > Data-saving and offline > Audio-only downloads for video podcasts and test with toggling it off/on to check if that makes a difference.

Appreciate the cooperation and we'll be on the lookout for your response.

It's never worked on my phone. They are all set to autodownload. It is all of them. I've cleared cache. The internet connection is fine.

Hey @newrkv,

Thanks for the additional info!

As clearing the cache is only one of the steps from the clean reinstall guide linked by @Ivelina, could you confirm you've gone over all of them without them bringing any change? If so, to continue troubleshooting this, make sure low power mode is not active on the device and, if possible, log in with someone else's account (friend or family member) and try to reproduce the same behaviour from there as well.

Another thing I noticed is the auto-download limit you've set. It says two new episodes per show, so this might be affecting the download experience as well. Try playing around with this setting after reinstalling to see if that would make a difference. In case the issue remains, let us know what your Spotify app version is and we'll gladly take a further look into what can be done here.

Much appreciated! We'll be on the lookout for your reply 🙂
