My Question or Issue

I was playing a searched for song on my iphone through airpods, the song finished and a random rock song started, I didnt know the song but the worksite had a radio playing in the background that sounded similar. I checked my phone and Hells Bells by ACDC was playing on my phone through to my airpods, i paused and then shazamed the radio and it was the same song? I was very tripped out by this and skipped the song and it went back to the original searched song over again. I checked the radio and it was on bluetooth mode playing off someone elses phone. Did my phone hear this and played it next on my phone? or did spotify connect have a random spaz out and it somehow connected to the other phones spotify? Its really intrigued me

Hey there @DingoDawg,

Thanks for posting this thread in the Community!

Since you haven't mentioned noticing another device (phone/radio) being connected to your phone when you heard the song, it actually sounds like what happened might have been a coincidence. To add to this, you've also mentioned that the radio was on Bluetooth mode playing off of someone else's phone, so I think there's nothing to worry about here.

You can check when/if your device is connected to another one via the Connect picker.

Something else worth mentioning is the Jam function which allows people to listen to and add songs to the queue together, whether in-person or virtually. It works with smart speakers and most Bluetooth speakers, however, when/if a Jam is started you should also be able to tell via the Connect picker. More info you can find in this help article.

Hope this helped clear things up a bit and don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything else you're wondering about.

Cheers 🙂
