I jumped in the chat and has all been sorted for me, all back up and running. I needed to delete the app a few times and reinstall. Assume a fix was applied or some other black magic.
It's all magically began working for me too with NO new reinstalls etc.
Seems like a fix on the spotify services side
It's working again. Effortlessly in my case (no reset/reinstall/unplugging).
It just started working by itself.
wow I formatted my Raspberry Pie 3 times and reinstalled everything, spent hours researching and yet it was your fault all along. Thanks for ruining my day!
Yes it works again for me too, no steps required, it just magically started working again 👍
I am the original poster of this thread. I was away for a few days, and now it works again.
It would be nice if Spotify could give some feedback on this problem. Did they restart some service? Did they roll back som change?
Get on the Spotify chat, they seemed to be working on something as we chatted. They then kept asking me to uninstall and reinstall the app. Assume they applied a fix or pushed an update which then worked for me.
Just keep an eye on the volume as when it kicked in the volume was Spinal Tap 11.
Pioneer doesn’t work with Bluetooth so I can’t connect to listen to music at all now?
I got a new phone and immediately had no sound playing through my home stereo even though the receiver panel indicates a connection to spotify and my phone also shows a connection to the stereo
I have the same issue for a couple of days now. Spotify connect always worked fine on my Pioneer receiver, but from one moment to the next it just stopped working.
I can still connect and start up a song, but it doesn’t actually start up the song. How do i fix this?

Hey, @Wickss,
Thanks for reaching out!
Does this happen when attempting to stream content in lossless quality? Note that not all devices support lossless audio playback and may be incompatible with the app. In any case, I'd recommend making sure your receiver is running the latest firmware updates.
If the issue persists (and occurs with lossy content too), it's worth checking your router settings and disabling IPv6 to see if that makes a difference. Something else you can try is changing the Wi-Fi frequency to 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz. If your receiver has a standalone app where these options are also available, make sure to configure them there as well.
Another thing you can do is disable DHCP and change your DNS settings to one of the listed below:
Hope this helps. Cheers 🤘

My Question or Issue
Issue with playing Spotify on amplituner. It worked like a charm for several months, but suddenly stopped.
While I point Onkyo as device in Spotify app on my mobile/tablet or even Windows PC - it connects but plays no music and after several seconds starts skipping songs - 10 sec and next and next - still silent.
I have tried to change DNS settings as adviced in older threads - changing DNS to 64.225.68.86 did not help. Changing to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 might sometimes help - if so, it can finish the song that is currently playing. But next is silent and skips after 10 seconds to next and next ...
Amp has recent firmware, network works without a flaw, all other network features in the amp itself work - remote app, network radio etc. Amp is also visible as device in Spotify app on various platforms. But doesn't play music from Spotify, which is super annoying.
Any perm solution to fix the issue?
update. Changing DNS to 1.1.1.1 helped on Wifi to play one song. Switching to wired and 1.1.1.1 seem to work (for now) I am able to change songs back and forth. For how long - time will tell
Update
We have an answer. It helped for 25 days. Great achievement Spotify!
