Smart shuffle doesn't play recently added songs

Aside from various existing problems with smart shuffle like the shuffle order always being the exact same etc. I've noticed fairly recently that smart shuffle also doesn't play recently added songs at all, systematically. If I scroll the the playlist queue I find them at the very end or not included at all and re-shuffling doesn't really help when the smart shuffle plays the same order always.

 

Behaviour is the same on multiple different Windows devices as well as smartphones, so the problem isn't user end.

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome. 

 

If you haven't yet, we'd suggest you perform a clean reinstall of the app on the affected devices. That way, you can make sure you're running the latest version of Spotify available and that the stored cache is not leading to this behavior.

 

If the above doesn't or didn't do the trick, we'd like to gather some additional info. Please send us:

  • The make/model and OS of the affected devices.
  • The exact Spotify version you're running there.
  • Did you notice if this started to happen after a specific event such as an OS update?
  • Does the same order appear even if you turn off/on the smart shuffle?
  • Does this happen on a specific playlist?
  • A short video recording. You can attach the video in your next reply in mp4 format, or upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public.
