My Question or Issue

My friend and I were trying to use Spotify to play the same playlist at the same time for a party we are having. But we ran into a problem. We can start it at the same time and all is well until the end of the song. For some reason my phone sourt of lags for a half second at the beginning of each song causing it to fall behind. It sourt of plays a half second then restarts. We cannot figure out how to fix and have scoured the internet for hours looking for solutions. My iPhone is the only device that does this too! My ipad and his phone and ipad do not do this either. I have tried everything on my phone from complete clean deletes following the guide to delete it cache as well as restarting nothing has seemed to fix it. Everything is updated as well. We are both on our own seperate accounts both with premium and have the playlist downloaded. Anyone got any ideas at all?

Thanks for the post.

 

Hmm, one thing I can think of is Crossfade or the Automix setting. Altering those will change how songs blend with each other when one ends and the next one starts. This could be causing the delay.

 

Can you check if tweaking those settings makes a difference 🙂

Yup. We tried messing with the cross fade as well as turning on and off hapless play back and auto mix. None of this has helped yet! Any other ideas?

Thanks for the post.

 

This issue could very well be related to your phone or account. To test this out, try creating a free account for test purposes and play a few tracks on your phone. If the lagging continues on the new account as well, the issue is most likely related to the device. This is just to verify this, since you've said that the lagging doesn't occur on any other of your devices.

 

You can also go into your phone's settings and make sure that the Spotify app is granted all Permissions and that there is no Battery saving enabled for it.
