I am trying to listen to some songs on the Windows program but it says: "This song is not available. If you have the file on your computer you can import it."
But I am listening to the same songs with no problem and with the same account (a Premium account) on the Android App and the Web Player? So is that some cache problem?
Hey @gandhimr,
To me it looks like the track has been blocked in your country.
Can you give me the link to the song that returns this error and the country you are currently in?
I'm in Brazil and this is a brazilian artist. But it happens with some other international artists as the one in the second link.
And if it's blocked, why can I listen on my android and with the Web player?

Hi,
I have been having the same issue since Friday last week. In my windows client i get the message: This song is not available. If you have the file on your computer you can import it.
However I can play the song on my Android device and PS4 without any problem.
This applies to my whole music connection, I cannot even play spotify playlists such as "electroNOW". I tried reinstalling the Spotify client two times and still no joy.
I use Windowws 7 and live in Czech Republic. Examples of songs I cannot play:
spotify:track:4wkKcxsj2zutTAyNCfShUy
spotify:track:2zoQ8pjJehasK9GU4vCHSp
spotify:track:0UZRFYMoz9xmeE2AQUhTDl
spotify:track:53T4hHGyr28ypR0Gyn5S07
example of playlist I cannot play:
spotify:user:spotify:playlist:1GQLlzxBxKTb6tJsD4RxHI
Is there any soluton to this? I have a Premium account and this severely impacts my user experience.
@martin7
Hi, I solved my problem, it was as I thought, a problem with the cache. I just went to the cache folder, deleted all the files and restarted the spotify. And it worked, I can listen to all the songs with no problem.
The only thing is that you'll have to download all the offline songs again...
Hope it works for you too.
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that as a first thing and it did not help. Later I noticed that the cache folder is also deleted when Spotify is uninstalled. However reinstall did not help either.
About an hour ago after using the web player for some time the Windows client started working again. In the mean time I did not do anything else related to Spotify. The problem just ceased by itself. This is good in terms I now have a working spotify however it is bad because I do not know how to fix it if this happens again. Ah well... Lets jus't hope it doesn't 🙂
Yeah... my problem is back... what can it be?
Isn't there anybody else having this problem? It seems to be a problem of server or on the Windows application.
I have the same problem, it only plays songs that I already have on iTunes but the rest are impossible to play, I keep getting the message ''This song is not avaiable, if you have the file you can import it''
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and it made no difference. I'm using Windows and I'm in Spain.
I'm pretty mad at this.
i'm having the same problem. I have a desktop & a laptop computer. I can play the song on my laptop but not on the desktop. I'm going to try clearing the cache soon as I can find it. 😄
i reported the same issue here:
running windows 10 in the US.
for me, reinstalling worked. note that I cleared out the cache manually before uninstalling, though.
