Songs stop playing in the middle and Spotify apps want go back to Starred Playlist in paused mode.

In Mac OS X (10.10 on a MacBook Pro early 2011..) Spotify with 0.9.14.13.gba5645ad and on iPhone 4 (iOS 7.1.2) with Spotify  1.9.0.2744 both applications randomly stop playback and jump to starred playlist but in paused position.

It might could be a 'handoff'-issue.

(but often my notebook is in standby when i am outside with my mobile device and it stops playing with the same behaviour.)

It is probably being caused by the MacBook client. It might be worth trying the desktop beta instead of the normal client:
