Hi folks,
Thanks for all your posts and patience!
A lot of users mentioned the issue doesn't occur with a different internet connection, such as a hotspot or a different WiFi, so this seems to be network-related for the most part and we recommend following these steps and user suggestions from the thread:
Something else that you can check is some of the fixes that users in the thread shared:
In case the issue persists afterwards, it'd be really appreciated if you can send us the following info so that we can pass it on to the respective team:
Hope this helps.
I have a similar issue with my 1st gen Echo Show 8. It only plays a song 10% of the time I ask it to do it. There are two more Echo Dots and one Echo Spot in the household. Two users are using the same Alexa devices. Do you need more info?
some issue here. Echo studio and shows stop playing spotify.
I reseted the Studio and its working. The Echo Show didnt work.
any updates?
Again, spotify has no update the Skill to fix any troubel for me. Here in Italy Echo Spot 2024 still cannot play spotify.
Any update? (Maybe if someone starts to work on it...)
as seems it's way above the knowledge level of your "coders" it would be better to put the skill under gpl and share it via github as the community would fix it in a few days.
or hire engineers who can write proper code. It's way too funny that in the last years (!!) noone was able to fix this when the lenght of the skill shouldn't be more then a few thousand lines
I have the same issue. I took the speaker to different home with a different network provider and setup (fiber instead of mobile 4G internet access). And in my second home it worked just fine. But on the problematic location it shows playing, but no sound, it skips the song and even if I change Spotify volume from my phone, then the speaker makes beeps accordingly.
Hey folks,
Thanks for your comments.
@emso1986, apologies for the late reply. Are you still having the issue? What happened when you updated the app on your PS5?
Judging from @alarmatwork's response, this is most likely a network/ISP issue, so can you all try connecting your speaker to a hotspot on your phone so we can narrow down the possible cause?
@paud, we're happy to hear that you're seeing some improvement. Have you noticed any pattern to when the issue occurs (playing specific tracks but not playlists/albums, using a specific command to start the playback, etc.)?
Keep us posted.

My Question or Issue
Hello, I am annoyed by this something that my Amazon Echo devices do during playback of Spotify playlists. When I access a specific Spotify playlist (say, a ‘This Is’ playlist featuring a particular band), my Echo device will only play a few songs from the playlist. It then begins introducing songs that are not on the playlist (while claiming that they are - i.e. the screen of my Echo Show continues to show the name of the playlist even as it adds different artists).
Obviously this doesn’t occur when I use Spotify on my phone or laptop. It’s quite infuriating - apart from the disruption of being force-fed songs that I don’t want to listen to, which ruins my listening experience and uses up my ‘skips’, there’s also the feeling that my device is interfering with another streaming service. Is there a reason why this is happening? Can it be avoided?
I have managed to fix my issue.
The sound-breaker was a network switch. More specifically a switch from Ruijie Reyee switch.
Whenever I took this away from the chain, my Spotify Alexa integration stated to make sound again.
So I would recommend others with the similar issue to make your network as simple as possible and check it works. Maybe turning off Wifi for a moment and test with the hotspot too.
I have managed to make it work.
Spotify works when I connect Alexa device to my hotspot. WiFi -> Mobile -> Hotspot on mobile -> Alexa Show -> Spotify works.
But when I connect Alexa directly to the same WiFi, then Spotify doesn't work.
And it is a problem only with Spotify.
Please @spotify fix SpotifyConnect for alexa to make european Echo Spot 2024 compatibile.
Have the same problem on Echo Studio. Was working fine and then alexa says "Playing on Spotiy..." and nothing happens
During the day from 20x times trying, I would say once it just works.
Changing all configs as support said , network and etc. No good at all. This sucks, it should be simple as always was. My child is so frustraded with this.
There should be at least a Debug Log somewhere where we could help with but it seems anyone knows how to explain it
This is always the same answer that every moderator has given and it never works🤦♂️

Same issue here....
Having exactly the same issue and have followed all suggested steps. Only affecting my Echo Show device, other devices are workign as expected (dots 3rd gen & 5th gen). Spotify app is showing music/podacsts as playing but the Show is just sat there as idle.
When asking Alexa directly, it says playing "xxx" from Spotify, then just nothing happens.
Please @spotify fix SpotifyConnect for alexa to make european Echo Spot 2024 compatibile.
Same issue in France withecho spot 2024 work with other echo
