Spotify App wont Log IN

I have been searching these forums and see that a number of other people have been having this issue for some time with varying levels of success.

 

I have tried everything I have found on here.

 

I have changed password.

Password is alphanumberic. 

I have my numeric log in username.

I tried disabling firewall.

I updated my Onkyo 509 firmware.

I tried entering the username and password directly from the buttons on the front.

 

Nothing is working please help.

 

Currently it asks for my username and password and then gives me a Login error. please check your account information yada yada yada.

 

The only thing I can think of is that I am currently on spotify unlimited not spotify premium but spotify unlimited gives access to portable devices now so I wasnt sure if that could be it. I dont want to upgrade and it still does not work. The main difference these days with spotify unlimited and Premium is that Premium allows for offline playlists according to the documentation.

Onkyo is a hardware partner device so unfortunately you do need Spotify premium to use Spotify on that platform.

Onkyo is a hardware partner device so unfortunately you do need Spotify premium to use Spotify on that platform.

Are you sure? I am happy to accept this as I always had Spotify Premium anyway and decided I would try unlimited for a while.

 

If you are certain about this I will try it and get back immediately if it works.

Ive had it for ages and have been delighted with it. Bought an Android tablet yesterday not even realising this function existed.
