Spotify Connect not working with Sonos devices

Spotify Connect not working with Sonos devices

Spotify connect is terribly buggy with any sonos devices. Not experiencing issues with chromecast devices.

Problems:
- When trying to connect to a Sonos device, it will immediately fail to connect
- After multiple attempts (4+) it will finally connect but no sound coming from Sonos device. Playback bar on Spotify app shows song is playing. Have to click play/pause button multiple times in Spotify app to start playback on Sonos device.

What I have tried so far:
- deleting and clearing cache of both apps
- deleting and readding Spotify integration for Sonos
- Restarting all Sonos devices and Android device

Having the same issue - although I have the "Premium Individual" plan.

 

Everything works when started from the Sonos app, but connecting to any individual or grouped sonos devices fails from the Spotify app. Just as described the device/speaker icon just blinks for a while (~10-12 seconds) next to the "Connecting ..." text. After that it just silently stops trying, the connection text disappears and the device icon goes back to default.

 

I tried "log out everywhere" and I tried to disconnect the Sonos app service and adding it back but nothing seems to fix it.

 

Using four Spotify accounts at our home (family set up). One suddenly stoped connect to Sonos devices while there is no problem with the others. The devices are visible and selectable from that failing account. When I select a Sonos device it confirms by saying: "Connecting to device[name of device]", tries to connect for a minute - then just stops trying and uses the last selected output.

Why is it failing and how can I fix this?

Hello, my spotify is having the same issue. My boyfriend's phone can connect to all the sonos speakers but mine cannot. If I click one of the names, it tries to connect for a while and then just gives up. I have tried EVERYTHING to fix this, believe me. I'm glad I found this forum. Seems it's an issue for many other people out there
