Spotify connect pauses for a few seconds 10-15 seconds before the end of EVERY song

My android phone handles Spotify perfectly - except when I connect to my home theatre using Spotify connect. Then it will pause for 3 seconds 10 to15 seconds before the end of each song and continues 7-12 seconds before the end of the song. This has been going on for the past few weeks. Used to work fine.
