Spotify keeps buffering when connected to Bose Cinemate 130 with SoundTouch Adapter

Spotify keeps buffering when connected to Bose Cinemate 130 with SoundTouch Adapter

Hi all,

I have an issue playing music on my Bose Cinemate 130 with SoundTouch Adapter using Spotify Connect.

I recently updated my Spotify App to version 3.8.0.1169 on both my iPhone 5S and on my iPad mini.

Since I updated to the above version, the music I play pauses momentarily, buffers, and then continues which is very annoying. I have tried to play music on my Bose system using other sources of music to see if the issue was related to the Bose system; but music from all other sources were fine and did not displaty the same issues. So it appears to be an issue with the Spotify app.

I have turned off all other devices with WiFi and Bluetooth to see if they were interfering with the connection; but the music from Spotify keeps buffering intermitently.

Is anyone else experiencing the same problem and is there a solution / remedy???

I would appreciate if anyone can help.

Kind regards,

SharkBait

Hello @SharkBaitHuhaha, Welcome to the community! 🙂

Lets troubleshoot this issue with you 🙂

to see if it is the speaker or if it is the connection with Spotify can i ask that you play music using your iPhone/iPads built in speakers for awhile and see if you experience buffering?

if you do experience buffering with the built in speakers it is your Internet connection that is causing the problem, if not we can take this a step further 🙂

I hope to hear back from you soon 🙂

Hi @jean3601,

Thanks for the prompt feedback.

I tried your recommendation of playing music using the built-in speakers in my iPhone and iPad; and I did not experience the buffering.

To further test if it was my internet connection; also logged into Netflix to see if there's any lag in streaming movies. I did not experience any lags.

And to take this test one step further, I simultaneously played music on my iPhone (using the built-in spreakers); streamed movies from Netflix on my Smart TV; and was loooking at videos on YouTube using my iPad..... Again I did not experience any lags. So it's definitely not the internet connection.

The interetsing thing is I've never experienced the buffering until after I updated the app... 😞

Thank you again for your suggestion and I hope we can find a fix..

Regards,

SharkBait

Hey,

Is the firmware up to date on your Bose Cinemate?

Hello @Grace,

Yes, my firmware is up to date.

I have done some more research to get to the bottom of the ussie. I also visited Bose's website and browsed through the threads on their support page.

It looks like this is an issue that many Bose owners are experiencing. The most recent response from Bose is that they were in contact with the Spotify team and that they were trying to come up with a solution.

The thread started in October 2014 and to date Bose is yet to come up with a fix.

You can read the thread here..
