Spotify stops playing after 2 songs (WP8)

When I'm using Spotify on my phone (Windows Phone 8x by HTC) if I select a song and let it go on shuffle, it'll stop playing music after the second song. I'll have to unlock the phone and open up the Spotify app on my phone for it to play music again. It's not always, but it's frequent enough to be a real nuisance especially on a 1 hr commute, 2 times per day. Does anyone else have this problem or have a solution?
