Spotify web player in Chrome no longer prevents MacOS from dimming screen/sleeping

I used to rely on Spotify web player playing in chrome to not cause my Macbook to go to sleep/dim the screen/etc.... but now it does all of sudden in the last few weeks?  Did anyone change any settings?

I find it interesting because this issue: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Other-Podcasts-Partners-etc/Web-player-does-not-prevent-macOS-from-... was recently marked resolved and it was someone complaining of the exact -opposite- problem (they did not want this behavior).

Is this configurable somewhere? Is this a Spotify feature, a chrome feature, a mac OS feature, some combination of the three?
