Hey @DimG14,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, we'd like to add some insights. Our free experience on mobile is different; keep in mind music on-demand is a Premium feature. In that sense, when hit play on a playlist, it's expected to listen to some recommended songs that you did not add to the playlist. Those are recommendations made by Spotify. It's also expected that on the mobile app device, playlists play on shuffle by default.

Now, free accounts work differently on desktop apps and web players. If you're not using Connect, and you hear songs that are not part of that playlist playing, it's possible you have some other playlist or songs in the queue ready to start playing. So, we'd recommend you check if there's something in the queue to play next. If yes, you can clear the queue, you first have to locate it by following the steps in this article. Then you can hit the Clear queue button to see if you notice any difference. This is only possible for free accounts on the web player/desktop app.

Nonetheless, if you noticed this explanation doesn't fit the behavior you're noticing, it'd be awesome if you could send us some screenshots of what you're seeing in your queue on the desktop app. It'd also be helpful if you sent us the exact Spotify version you're running on your computer, so we can better understand what's happening on your side.

Keep us in the loop!
