I'm on the premium plan, using the Windows desktop app version of Spotify. I'm trying to remove a song from my Discover Weekly playlist, since it's been there before and I didn't think much of it the first time. The button to do this has been removed. I can find old posts explaining where it is, and it's not there any more. How do I remove this song from my playlist?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Totally agree. Don't understand why it's gone there, but still available in Release Radar. Shouldn't be too difficult for the tech guys to fix it?Unless Spotify wants to eventually get rid of Discover Weekly and have a funny way of introducing it to its heavy users...
The same issue on Linux. Spotify 1:1.2.50.335. Premium plan.
This is a huge problem, because when we hear Discover Weekly once more, we need to manually skip songs, which takes time and is incredibly annoying! Or forces us to hear the list only once, because more times becomes annoying if the list is bad some weeks.
As with others, button still exist in Release Radar.
Spotify für Windows (64 Bit)
1.2.51.345.gcc39d911
Very annoying that I can't hide songs anymore, been doing it for over a quater year regularly
Please, everyone who confirms the problem, hit the "Me too" button on the header (look up, Me Too button is underneath the image) of this thread to show that we are not just commenters but also have this problem. There are plenty of comments, but only 6 "Me too" counts so far.
Time to show Spotify that this is a serious problem, and we need a serious response from them.
If you don't see the Me Too button immediately, click on the like button and the Me Too button will appear. At least, that's how it worked for me.
I updated to: Spotify for Windows (64bit)
1.2.52.442.g01893f92
And it is still mising dislike/remove/hide function.
I have old android version on my phone (because other Spotify terrible decisions), I can hide song there, but it will still play on windows...
Please fix this. Discovery weekly is unusable without dislike or some other way to remove songs.
It's currently 2024, near 2025; hopefully I'm not so old that I'm blind to the button, but with the constant changing of the user interface, it seems I cannot locate that UI again (or ever, funny enough). I would love to know where the app designers hid it this time.
Unsure what may have happened on the backend but on desktop I can now see the Hide button is back on my Discover Weekly as of today. (Dec. 8 2024)

Same here, as of today (Monday 9th December), the Hide button is back. Long may it last!
Maybe someone at Spotify was listening in to our conversation and fixed it for us?? You never know...
It's strange. On the new Discover Weekly page, some songs have the minus button, some don't... Spotify wasn't updated. Oh wait! When I went to the Discover Weekly page again, now all songs have the remove button! Yay!
Same problem.

Hey there, folks,
We've made some changes backstage so this now should be fixed for everyone - just make sure you're running the latest version of Spotify.
If the Hide song button on your Discover Weekly playlist is still missing, try logging out and signing back in to your account twice in a row to force a resync of your account.
Cheers 🤘
It came back for me a few days ago but has now been removed again.
@CarlWheezerAhh, for me, remove buttons still show on Discover Weekly. So either this feature has still some bugs and is showing inconsistently across users, or maybe this is some cache problem on your end. When the remove button showed up, it came for a few songs, but not for all. Then it showed up for all. So maybe, this is the case for you, where cache makes it not be visible for most (or all) songs, but may come back at any time. Or, this is still some independent, external bug, but as I said, it's not general for everyone now.
When using open.spotify.com in browser, the "Hide" button for tracks played from Discover Weekly does not appear. It will only appear when the Spotify tab is reloaded, and only for the currently queued track. Changing to the next song in Discover Weekly will remove the "Hide" button, leaving only the option to "Add to Liked Songs." This makes it difficult and time consuming to tailor your Discover Weekly since you have to refresh each time you want to hide a song
its gone for windows too and its annoying me already , give it baaaaaaaaaaaaaack
I still am having this problem. I tried logging out/in twice to force a resync; and also uninstalled/reinstalled Spotify with no change. Still no "Hide" buttons in Discover Weekly.

Same for me. First time discovering this. can still unlike and hide on the New Releases playlist, but not on Discover Weekly, which I thought if you UNLIKE something, that artist or type of music will get featured less for you.
Spotify for macOS (Apple Silicon)

Still gone. Is there an ETA for getting this feature back? It makes the discover weekly playlist useless.
