Web Player doesn't work anymore on Surface 2 tablets. What happened?

Does anybody know why the Spotify Web player stopped working on Surface 2 tablets? The Surfcae 2 has an IE 11 browser, which is among the supported browsers list.

Geez, I'm sorry but this service is becoming annoying, no App for the Windows platform (PC or Tablet), no app for XBox. Spotify should be all about the music not about "forcing" devices on people.

Same exact thing over here, play.spotify.com just redirects to the main site 😞

I've been having the very same problem for a couple of months. For the first three weeks or so, everything worked fine and then one day the web player link just caused a re-load of the start page. I'm still using the app on my phone but the whole thing is just not worth it, without being able to use the service on my tablet, too. Is there really no way of contacting spotify directly? This is incredibly frustrating.
