Web Player stuck on Erie Insurance Ad

Web Player stuck on Erie Insurance Ad

I have tried every "suggestion" to fix this issue and all have failed.

  • Removed all cookies and searched for specific spotify cookies to remove
  • Reinstalled chrome
  • Tried another browser
  • Computer restart
  • Incognito browser
  • Uninstalled adblock
  • Tried playing on mobile and switching back to desktop. This never worked because the option to do so never worked.

This issue seems to persist across computers and occurs on my work's PC and my home personal PC.

I'm able to play music through the ap on my phone and through the mobile site but not on my desktop.

Please migrate this if it's not in the correct section.

Hey @Ovaryraptor

That's odd!

Generally speaking, when you're playing something on a desktop client or mobile, then the content that's being played should be visible in the web player as well. It doesn't work like that in your case? 🙂

I'd suggest these tips to try:

1. Go to a random album and hit the three dots on any song to select "Copy song link". Now paste this to your browser's address bar and hit Enter.
This should force the web player to open the album and start playing the song. Hit play if it doesn't play anything yet.

2. Go to Spotify webpage, log in if you're not logged in yet and select any album in the "Jump back in" section. This should open the web player and make it play the album you selected.

Is this ad freezing your web player each time it plays, or has it been stuck on it since it first happened?

Keep me posted on how you get on!

It has been stuck since this ad played.

Neither of those methods worked.

Alright, let's try something else 🙂

I suggest wiping cookies and cache and trying out this:

  1. Open Spotify on your web browser to make sure the problem still exists.
  2. Open the Spotify app on your mobile device.
  3. Start playing a song on your mobile device.
  4. Tap on the "connect to device" icon on your mobile device while the song is playing.
  5. Select your computer (it should appear as long as your computer and phone are on the same wifi).

Let me know how it goes!

Again not a solution. See my last bullet. Tried that method and still hasn't worked.
