Web Remote Control for iPhone

Okay, I may be in a minority on this one... and I kinda feel like it may even be possible already with APIs, and I'm looking into it... but...

I have a Tesla, and their Slacker integration for the US market is unfortunate. Their UI for phone music control is beyond terrible for such a high tech car. So I had an idea to write a web app that could act as a remote for music playing on my iPhone via Spotify. I looked all over and the only remote scenario is phone control of a desktop computer, or if devices are on the same network. That won't work with a mobile device and car with an ancient web browser. 🙂

Off to go explore the Web APIs some more.
