Web player chokes every time a banner ad loads.

Seems like every song stops playing for a couple of seconds when a banner ad loads.  It happens 3 or 4 times a song and seems to be getting worse all the time.  I'm using 64-bit Chrome on Windows 7.  My web connection is ethernet to 100/100 FIOS.

Is somebody deliberately trying to undermine Spotify, mainly through an 'organised irresponsibility' that might be the reason why this problem has been going on for months? And, in the end, I end up with just the dreaded EE banner ad with 'Get 6 free months of Apple music on EE.....It's our treat to you'. Isn't it just!
