My Question or Issue

I am completely stuck on this one.

Web player will not open, i get the error
"Something went wrong, try reloading the page"
This happens on multiple browsers tried Chrome and Edge, the Webplayer will open if i log out first but once i log in i get the same error again.

I can still log in on this laptop with windows app, but that has other unrelated issues i've tried for years to unsuccessfully fix 🙂 .

I can still log in to the webplayer on my work laptop.

Only recent change, windows did an update last night, unsure if that messed something up?

I've tried restarting laptop, clearing cache and cookies on chrome, logging out of every device, allowing flash, checking firewall settings, setting incognito mode on account, logging in on chrome incognito,  logging off and on, constant refreshing, turning off adblock, accepting cookies

Note also i am not using a VPN

Any help would be appreciated

I am very much stuck for other steps, it breaks only when i log in on webplayer on this laptop only regardless of browser... but it works fine when not logged in.... what the heck...

Hi there @Akkar,

Thanks for the reply and the info.

Can you try clearing the host files on your laptop. You can follow the guide by @Sebasty in this Solution here.

Hey there @Akkar,

Thank you for your post and for letting us know all of the troubleshooting steps you've done so far.

Can you try with another internet connection to see if the issue persist?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Cheers!

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for your help

Unfortunately I do not have another internet connection available to try at the moment, joys of covid.

I did try restarting the modem by turning off at the wall, but it didn't help

I can access the webplayer through a different laptop which uses the same internet connection.

I am a bit at a loss:
I can log in webplayer on a separate laptop on same network
I can open the webplayer on this laptop when not log-in
The error when logging in webplayer persists through multiple browsers including: Edge, Opera, and Chrome
And I can log in to the windows app on this laptop.

So I only get an error when logging in on this laptop only on webplayer...

I'm hoping it is a bug with a windows update and the next update will fix it.

Thanks a lot for your help, that worked 🙂

I found that solution about a week ago but could not save over my hosts files, it blocked me from doing so. Turns out my anti-virus protection was preventing changes to host files.
