When in group songs skip 30secs to 2 minutes into song

So when I am hosting a Spotify Listening Group thing, it's fine for me however anyone else who joins skips 2 minutes into the song. Say we're listening to a song that just started. I would start at 0:00 and everyone else will start at a random point 2 minutes into the song. And this also happens to me when I join someone else's Group. I skip 30 seconds into the song while they start normally at 0:00

Hey @gibbyp247,

Thanks for reaching out.

As a first step, can you please let us know the following:

  • The model, OS version, and Spotify version of the affected devices.
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps like reinstalling the app?
  • Does the playback progress bar sync across all devices in the group session?

Looking forward to your reply.

On my PC the Spotify Version is Spotify for Windows
1.2.9.743.g85d9593d
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and also logging out and logging back in.
On spotify my time is correct on the bar however when on Discord when i check my activity it says im 2-3 minutes deep into the song which might be why anyone who joins my spotify party is always ahead. I've unlinked it from my account multiple times with no fix.

Hi there @gibbyp247,

Thanks for the post.

The Spotify Group Session doesn't stream music to all participants in real time. This is most likely why you're experiencing these different play progress times with your friends.

Regarding the Discord issue, you'll have to turn to the support team from Discord about this, as it's a third party app which uses Spotify API to generate their data. More info can also be found here.

Hope this helps.
