Hey there,
Thanks for reaching out.
Since Spotify is a music streaming service, content can only be accessed through the Spotify app or the apps of partners (such as car infotainment or TVs).
I hope this clears things up!
How can I upload music in a MP3 reader, so to use while I swim ?

Hi there @fcaporale69,
Thanks for reaching out. We'll be glad to clarify the functionality of the app.
Spotify is a streaming service, so it's not possible to download songs as files that can be transferred to physical media or to other devices. When you download songs to listen offline, this merely caches them on a specific device so as to be able to play them back later without needing an internet connection. As such, you can only use Spotify on devices that support it in some way. If the one you have doesn't directly, then you can perhaps try and use a supported device and listen via Bluetooth instead.
Hope this clears things up.
I have swimming headphones with Bluetooth and MP3 playing capability; however, since Bluetooth does not work in water, I have to use the built-in memory card to play MP3s. Is it possible to download a playlist onto an MP3 player like this? ~ Thanks, Tyson
hi can anyone tell me if I can download music off of Spotify as an mp3 file to play on an mp3 player?
Hi @martymcfly64,
Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community, and welcome!
I’ve moved your post from Chat to a relevant Help board, where it fits better.
Spotify is a streaming service, so unfortunately it's not possible to download songs as files that can be transferred to physical media or to other devices (such as an MP3 player). You can only use Spotify on devices that support it in some way.
Let me know if you have any other questions, and have a good day!
Hi, I was hoping somebody might be able to help me with this, I was gifted a revamped Mp3 player that doesn't have a network connection. I have recently bought a micro SD card for the device and I have been trying to add my favourite songs onto it with no success. I am saving and downloading the spotify files on the app. What is required by my Rock Star Audio Play device is that you are able to transfer the downloaded files onto the device itself. I have tried to share it with myself but that didn't work. I have all the necessary hardware for what I am trying to do. If anybody can do some brainstorming or get in contact with someone in a position to make these requested changes that would be great. Even if the most you can do is to share this around so that it gets more exposure, that would be much appreciated.
Thank you, JM.
Hello,
I'm looking for a MP3 player for my kid, on which I can download his Spotify Playlist.
I have Spotify Premium Family.
Does any MP3 Player with Spotify App allows offline listening?
Or do I need a specific one?
I already know I have to go online each 30 days.
Best regards
Gui
Can I download music from Spotify to a MP3 player that has a Spotify app
Hi there folks,
Thanks for the replies.
@icontesse Spotify can only be used on supported devices, but there are MP3 players out there that run on Android, so if any of those cover the minimum requirements, this should be exactly what you're looking for. Provided you use Premium, you will have all the benefits including offline listening.
@mshonnie Files cannot be extracted from Spotify and transferred. Provided the device you're using supports the Spotify app, you can download the music there to be able to listen to it offline.
Hope this clears things up.
