Hey @Oliversc2www,
Thanks for posting in this thread!
Just to make sure we're on the same page, have you installed the Android app on your Chromebook, as suggested earlier in the thread by @OscarDC?
Keep in mind that while there isn't an official Spotify app for Chromebook yet, the Android app can be used if you'd like to download playlists for offline listening. And as you mention the web version, it's also worth noting that it's currently not possible to download music using the Web Player. So, if the option to make playlists and podcasts available for offline listening doesn't appear, you might be logged in to the web based version of Spotify.
Feel free to also check this page about using Spotify on a Chromebook (if you haven't already).
Let us know how you get on!
Hey there,
Thanks for reaching out 🙌🏼
To download music for offline listening, follow the steps from this guide over here.
It's a pretty straightforward process but let us know should any difficulties or questions come to mind 🙂
Cheers!
So sorry to say this, but that trick doesnt help on all electronics!
Hey @robertson7271,
Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.
Could you let us know on which devices you're struggling to download your content? Make sure to include as much info as you can about the issue, you're experiencing including the make/model and OS of your devices along the Spotify version they're running and some screenshots of the error you're seeing, if possible.
We'll be waiting for your reply.
Unfortunately, I cannot find the download button on my chromebook. I'm assuming that it's not possible to download playlists on here.
Hey there @bethanywitt,
Thanks for your reply here and welcome.
It's important to mention that the option to download content is not available in the web player. If perhaps you're using the web app in your Chromebook, then it's expected not to see the button to download content.
If perhaps you're using the app or you cannot locate this option on a different device, please let us know.
We'll be on the lookout!
it doesnt work on chromebook
if I use the downloaded app on Spotify it still don't show the option to download
YEAH exactly
Hi folks,
Thanks for the replies.
Could you let us know how and from where you've installed the app on your Chromebooks? Sends us some screenshots of what you see so we can look in more detail.
Keep us posted.
Hey @emily117,
Thank you for keeping in contact and for the clarification.
In that case, would you mind downloading the Android version of the app to see if it makes any difference? You can find out how to install the Android version of Spotify on your Chromebook by going to the Google Support page here.
If the issue persists, include in your next response a screenshot of the options you see available on your end to take a better look.
Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

yall should make it so people can download a folder of their playlists onto their Chromebooks from the web version if they have premium like me for students in school who hates to let them use apps on the school wifi so they wifi ban the apps.
It didn't work for me what a bummer hope Spotify gets this fixed(not trying to be rude just tired) 🙂
I agree with you
Bro that doesn't work on chromebooks. I'm on a chromebook right now (with a family premium obviously!), so that's why I'm here. I have no answer, but the Chromebooks don't have the download button thingy. ☹️
how do you download the Android app though...
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
