Hi,
for 1 week i have a problem. When i use spotify on my phone everthing is oke. But when i stream it to my google home mini, its starts to skip servel numbers in the playlist and then play for 10 seconds a song and then it stops. Well it stops music on the google home but not on the phone. When i select next on my phone its starts skipping songs again and play a song for 10 seconds. Every phone that conects with my google home mini have the same problem. When i conect with the chromecast or blue tooth everything works fine. Also other audio streaming software works fine( like soundcloud) I reset my google home mini, unlinked spotify from the google home. I reinstalled spotify on my phone.
I also had a chat with the google home/nest support. We did al kind of options and finally they say it must be spotify.
I hope that someone can help me

Hi bro did u find solution thanks
Same issue, this is a software bug. Tried all the usual, factory reset the google home, killed all Spotify instances, update Spotify instances. Sometimes it just stops playing, sometimes it will play but when you select a song while casting it will randomly cycle between 5 or 6 songs until it settles on one to play. Iโm a software engineer and I can say without question this is an edge case in their google home integration, and a Jira should be filed to the Spotify engineering team appropriately.
I have google nest and had the same issue. I am using it in the office over the office network. In my case the problem was solved once I turned off "Let others control your cast media". You can find it in the speaker settings - Recognition & Sharing
Hello,
I have the same issue. Ask Google to play music, it does but after a very short time goes quiet.
It's still connected as I ask it to tell me a joke and it does. Then back to music and it stops again.
I have another mini upstairs, never a problemm just bought another and simply unplugged old and into new and it works fine.
I say it's the mini machine.
I have done every thing suggested on both Spotify and Google Nest Forums as well as what Spotify and Google tech support have recommended to no avail. When I ask Google Mini to play a Spotify personal playlist it plays 2-4 songs off the list and quits. When I ask Google to play a random artist's songs it plays 2-4 songs and quits. Spotify works fine in my car, on my phone on a Bose blue tooth speaker, etc, Pandora works fine on Google home mini. Last thing I did was rebooting my Modem and Router as suggested above. No change. Have two home minis and the results are the same.
I think Google and Spotify are aware of the problem and don't know what to do about it. Last Google Tech I talked to agreed.
PLEASE HELP
Any luck here? I have the same issue
Still no solution that works for me and Google seems to have no clue what the problem is. They blame Spotify and SPotify blames Google but bot say neither one is able to talk or communicate to the other so how is anything supposed to get resolved. How does Google get to advertise that the Mini's work with Spotify??
Yeah this is really frustrating.
Checked all devices have the most update Firmware (both Google and Spotify). Uninstalled and reinstalled apps. Signed in under a different account, unlinked and re-linked Spotify ( closed Home and rebooted phone before re-linking Spotify). Spotify opened a new (temporary) account for me and I tried that. Rebooted modem and router. Neither have changed and both work fine streaming, etc. Did system resets on both Home Minis. Tried Casting the Personal Playlist to the Home Mini, same results, plays one or to three songs and quits. Played Spotify playlists, Genres and artists. Same thing, plays a few songs and stops. Switch to Pandora NO PROBLEMS AT ALL
Tried That. Doesn't work Spotify Plays music it just quits after playing a few songs from a Playlist
This issue IS NOT SOLVED. Here is my most recent contact with Google Support:
Muddi (Google Support) asked me to do the following
1)From this mobile device go to Settings/Apps/Google Play Services/Storage/Cache/Manage Space/Clear All Data
2) Unlink Spotify from Google Home App
3)Uninstall Google Home and Spotify
4)Reboot the mobile device and the Home Mini
5)Reinstall the Google Home app (Leave the Spotify app uninstalled for the meantime)
6)Relink the Spotify account in the Google Home app
7)Test the feature
This was my response:
Muddi,
Did EXACTLY as you requested (all of which I have done before) with exactly the same results. The Google Home Mini played about 2 1/2 songs from my playlist and then stopped. I tried sending you a video from the the time I said "Hey Google until the Mini stopped playing but when I did I got a message that said the video exceeded the 25mb file size and it would not let me send it.
What happened to this all be referred to upper level engineering? I have looked on Google blogs and Spotify blogs and this has been a known problem for at least two years. As I have said before most people just give up because of the frustration of dealing with you guys. You obviously haven't looked over my two case files or you would have realized that I have done all of this before with the same results. I assume you are a Tech support person (ie. Trouble shooter) and you are just going through the standard trouble shooting routines. RESPECTFULLY THIS IS ABOVE THAT LEVEL OF PROBLEM SOLVING. Again, HOW DO PROBLEMS LIKE THIS GET RESOLVED IF YOU CAN'T TALK TO SPOTIFY AND THEY CAN'T TALK TO YOU. What would you think if you bought a new car that had a problem that the dealer could not solve and you asked them to talk to the manufacturer and they said "Oh we have no way of talking to them"???? I think you would be pretty frustrated.
Please respond.
Well Muddi wrote back and asked me to send them a Video of me asking the Mini to play a play list showing it quitting (guess they didn't trust me). I made the video but it was too big of a file to email and I told them so along with the above. They wrote back that I either needed to compress the file OR download it to You Tube (like most people would know how to do that!!! I did as asked. They acted like if I didn't do it they would close the case!!! I feel they are hoping I will give up. Here is what I=said back:
It is definitely problem with Google Home service, same thing happens on Xiaomi Mi Speaker with Google home function. The only difference is how long you can listen to music, sometimes it can be hours, and then few song and it stops, often cutting songs in the middle. Maybe I am wrong, but I think it has to be something with more than one smartphone, that can control Google Home.
I only use one phone plus your phone can be completely turned off and the Google Home Mini will play Spotify music. If you are casting music to a device that's a different story. My roblem is when I ask Spotify to play a given Play List it will \start playing the playlist for 2-4 songs and then quit playing
