"Hidden" Albums

I've been going through some of my older playlists to clean up ones I no longer need.  I've come across examples of albums that no longer appear on the artist page, but because my old playlist included them, I am able to navigate to the album page and listen to the music.  Anyone have an idea of how this happens?  If it's on Spotify and playable, why is something not showing up on an artist page?

Spotify would love to have all the world’s music available to everyone. However, some artists and tracks aren't currently available.

To be honest, if you can't see it from the artist's profile, I don't know why you can still listen to it.
