"SFW" Filter on Playlists

"SFW" Filter on Playlists

I use Spotify to play music on a speaker all day in our office, but am wary to have anything with the "E" flag play out loud. I usually have to search for specific "clean" playlists or need to quickly skip if an Explicit song comes up in the queue. It would be amazing to be able to filter out any songs with an Explicit flag on existing playlists instead of needing to deliberately create/find clean playlists.

Hey @bdomz,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

We hope you don't mind us moving your post out of the ideas section to one of our Help boards as it fits better here.

That being said, we'd like to add some insights. At the moment, it's possible to allow or block anything with explicit tags. When explicit content is switched off, anything with an explicit tag is grayed out. You can’t play it, and it’s automatically skipped. You can find out how to do it in this article.

So, we'd recommend switching on this option so you avoid playing something explicit. If the playlist is yours, no worries; the tracks won't be removed from it, just grayed out.

Note: We can’t tag all explicit content because it depends on the information we get from rights holders.

Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need a hand with anything else, we're always a post away.
