shuffle play for searched songs doesn't work

Solved!

shuffle play for searched songs doesn't work

Plan

Country

Device

( the problem occurs on every device, phone and PC(window) in my case)

Operating System

(Android Oreo, Windows 10)

My Question or Issueu

So when I search by keyword (specific artist/title etc.) from my liked songs or playlist,

for example, if I look up 'mac miller' from my liked songs, it will only show songs made by mac miller that I liked right?

and when i shuffle play through them it won't shuffle through only the searched songs(Mac miller's songs in this case), it plays through every songs in my 'liked songs'

although it doesn't happen when I don't shuffle play them, it's really inconvenient

I noticed this because it used to work how I want it to work

Hi @ewig!

I just tried to reproduce this on my end, but the Shuffle button did not seem to trigger unexpected behavior and everything was working the way it should.

It's worth pointing out the following:

  • On the desktop app, the magnifying glass icon serves as a filter in playlists, so playing one of the filtered results creates a new queue that consists only of these results (i.e everything else in the playlist is excluded).
  • On mobile, the magnifying glass functions as a search tool instead, which is why the rest of the playlist is also included in the play queue. If you want to play the songs you've liked from a specific artist, you can go to their artist page and tap on Liked Songs.

In case you experience different behavior when shuffle-playing one of your playlists, please share a short screen recording which showcases it in action so we can have a closer look.

Cheers!
