squeezebox questions: newbie

My father is a ludite and refuses to hook his laptop up to the stereo eventhough I'm sure he'd love spotify. I'd like to  give him a squeezebox touch to use spotify but I'm sure he'll balk if he has to run his laptop in order to use spotify. Would it be possible for him to set up his playlists, shut down his computer, and then access the playlists from the home wifi? thanks

Shouldn't be a problem. The computer is not really needed in conjunction with the Squeezebox. However he will need a Spotify Premium account.
