this one is a bit out there. i'm cooking a synthy, disco, new wave playlist with everything from heaven 17 to grace jones, to some more obscure international artists, including from the old ussr etc. but it's not quite ready yet. but a byproduct of that whole process is i got introduced to a style of music called 'latin freestyle' or just 'freestyle' and i have to say i love it. it's like really old school electro hip hop meets new wave, lots of energy, perhaps not for every occasion but well worth looking into. if you know lisa lisa and culture jam, and afrikka bambaataa and mantronix, they're included, as it's got a few crossover tracks in there where they fit the bill. hope you enjoy!
